A search volume checker tells you how many times a keyword is searched each month. It is the demand half of every content decision, and the most commonly misread instrument in SEO: big numbers hypnotize, and the qualifiers that matter (difficulty, intent, seasonality) get ignored. The head term looks a thousand times more attractive and is worth roughly nothing to a small site: informational, brutally competitive, and the searcher may want a definition, not a product.
