What is keyword research, and other fair questions

Keyword research is finding out what your audience actually types into search engines, then deciding which of those queries your site should answer. Done well it covers four questions: what people search for (the keywords), how often (volume), how hard each one is to rank for (difficulty), and what the searcher wants (intent). The output should be a plan of what to publish, in what order. Most tools stop at the list; KeywordPilot is built around the plan.

Yes. The free demo runs the real engine with no account, and paid accounts are open: you sign in with an emailed code, create projects, chart seed keywords, reopen saved plans, track rankings and export them.

Ahrefs and Semrush are excellent databases with a steep price and a steep learning curve. They hand you raw keyword data and leave the synthesis, clustering keywords into topics, judging winnability and building a content plan, to you. Volume and difficulty are AI-estimated directional bands (High/Medium/Low volume, Easy/Moderate/Hard difficulty), in the demo and inside a paid account alike, and they are labeled as estimates everywhere they appear. They are not live search-engine data and we do not dress them up as measured counts.

KeywordPilot is built by a small, independent software team in the EU. Your seeds, clusters and plans are never resold or shared between accounts, and we delete everything on request. Card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers.

Growth includes 3 seats and Agency 10: you invite teammates by email from the Team page and they work in the same workspaces, on the same plan. Invoices and card changes live in the billing portal.
