Semrush Pricing 2026: Every Plan, Cost, Price and the Real Team Bill

Semrush costs $139.95 a month on Pro, $249.95 on Guru and $499.95 on Business, all for one user, with roughly 17 percent off if you pay for a year. There is now a second track as well: Semrush One, sold as Starter at $199, Pro+ at $299 and Advanced at $549, which bundles AI visibility tracking on top of the SEO toolkit. Most pricing articles still describe only the first lineup, which is why quotes you find online disagree. Below is every plan on both tracks, the seat math that decides your real bill, and the limits that matter, checked against Semrush's own pricing page in August 2026.

▸ The classic lineup

Semrush pricing plans: Pro, Guru and Business

These are the three SEO plans Semrush has sold for years, and the ones most buyers still mean when they ask about Semrush pricing. Each includes one user. The annual column is what the same plan works out to per month when you commit to twelve months up front.

Plan Monthly Paid annually Keywords tracked Results per report Extra seat
Pro $139.95 $117.33 a month 500 10,000 About $45
Guru $249.95 $208.33 a month 1,500 30,000 About $80
Business $499.95 $416.66 a month 5,000 50,000 About $100
Enterprise Quoted Quoted Custom Custom Custom

The gap between Pro and Guru is $110 a month, and what you buy with it is mostly volume: three times the tracked keywords and three times the rows in every export. Guru also unlocks historical data and the content toolkit. If you are a solo operator who never exports more than a few thousand rows, Pro is the honest answer and the upgrade is not urgent.

▸ The part most articles miss

Semrush One pricing: the second lineup sold alongside the classic plans

Semrush now sells a second track under different tier names, priced separately and built around tracking how your brand shows up in AI answers as well as in Google. When you land on the Semrush pricing page today, this is often the lineup you see first, which is exactly why a figure you read in one article will not match the one in the next.

Plan Monthly Paid annually Websites Keywords tracked AI prompts a day
SEO $139 $117.33 a month 5 500 Not included
Starter $199 $165.17 a month 5 500 50
Pro+ $299 $248.17 a month 15 1,500 100
Advanced $549 $455.67 a month 40 5,000 200, plus API access
Enterprise Quoted after a demo Quoted Custom Custom Custom

Read the two tables together and the overlap is obvious. The SEO plan at $139 and classic Pro at $139.95 are the same money for the same 500 tracked keywords. The real decision is whether AI visibility tracking is worth the $60 a month step from SEO to Starter, because that is the only thing the jump buys you at the entry level: the website and keyword limits do not move.

▸ The number that surprises people

What Semrush actually costs a team, once you add the seats

Every Semrush plan on both tracks includes exactly one login, and account sharing is against the terms. That single line is responsible for most of the sticker shock in renewal conversations, because the price you budgeted was the price for one person. Here is what the same plan costs as the team grows.

Team size Pro, per month Guru, per month Business, per month
1 person $139.95 $249.95 $499.95
2 people About $184.95 About $329.95 About $599.95
3 people About $229.95 About $409.95 About $699.95
5 people About $319.95 About $569.95 About $899.95

Seat rates are the commonly published figures of roughly $45, $80 and $100 per additional user per month, and Semrush's own add on listing says additional users start at $45 a month. Confirm the exact rate in checkout for your plan before you budget, because add on pricing is the part vendors change most quietly. The shape of the math is what matters: a three person team on Guru is paying over $400 a month, and the second and third seats buy no extra data at all, just the right to log in.

▸ Beyond the sticker price

The Semrush limits that decide whether a plan is enough

Price is the easy half. The reason people upgrade mid contract is almost always a ceiling they did not read about, so these are the four worth checking against how you actually work.

Results per report

Pro caps every report at 10,000 rows, Guru at 30,000 and Business at 50,000. If your job involves pulling a competitor's full keyword profile into a spreadsheet, this is the limit you hit first, and it is the single most common reason agencies move from Pro to Guru.

Tracked keywords

Pro tracks 500 keywords, Guru 1,500 and Business 5,000. Spread across client sites that goes quickly. A rank tracking setup for ten sites at 50 keywords each already consumes the entire Pro allowance.

Historical data

Access to historical data starts on Guru. On Pro you see the present. If you need to show a client what their visibility looked like eighteen months ago, or diagnose when a drop began, that is a Guru feature and not a Pro one.

One seat, always

No tier on either track includes a second user. This is the limit that scales with your headcount rather than your traffic, and it is the one that makes a per seat tool expensive for content teams where several people need occasional access rather than daily access.

▸ Picking a tier

Which Semrush plan is right for you

Solo site owner or freelancer

Pro at $139.95, or $117.33 annually. One site, one person, 500 tracked keywords and 10,000 row reports is plenty. Do not pay for Guru because a comparison article told you historical data is essential. Upgrade when you actually hit a ceiling.

Agency or multi site team

Guru at $249.95 plus seats. The 30,000 row reports and historical data are the two things client work genuinely needs, and a three person team lands around $409.95 a month. Price that against the classic plan before you look at Semrush One.

You care about AI answers

The Semrush One track from $199. If you need to know whether your brand is being cited in AI generated answers, that tracking lives here and not on the classic plans. If you do not, the classic lineup is cheaper for the same SEO data.

One more thing worth saying plainly, because almost nobody selling against Semrush will: for a large number of buyers the honest answer is that Semrush is the right tool and the price is fair. If you run paid search alongside SEO, manage several client sites, and use the site audit and content toolkits weekly, the bundle is cheaper than assembling the same capability from four separate subscriptions. The buyers who overpay are the ones who bought a fifty tool platform to answer one question: what should I write next.

▸ In context

How Semrush pricing compares to the other keyword tools

Entry price only tells you where a tool starts, so the third column is what the money actually buys. Every figure was checked against the vendor's own page in the month shown.

Tool Starts at What you are paying for
Semrush $139.95 Pro Breadth. Around fifty tools spanning SEO, PPC, content and social, plus the strongest advertising research in the category.
Ahrefs $29 Starter, $129 Lite The best backlink index in the category. Starter is a genuine entry tier, though it blocks exports and caps reports at 250 rows.
Moz Pro $49 Starter A gentler on ramp and the original Domain Authority metric, with a smaller link index than either Ahrefs or Semrush.
Ubersuggest $29 Individual Cheap keyword and site data with lifetime deals available. Data depth falls behind on competitive terms.
Google Keyword Planner Free with an Ads account Volume ranges straight from Google, built for advertisers. Ranges rather than numbers without active spend, and no organic difficulty score.
Keywordpilot From $39 founding The synthesis rather than the raw index: one seed keyword expands into scored topic clusters and a publish ordered content plan. No backlink index, no site crawl.

Semrush and Ahrefs figures verified August 2026, the rest in July 2026. Full breakdowns live on Ahrefs pricing, Ahrefs vs Semrush and Semrush vs Ubersuggest vs Ahrefs. If the price is the sticking point rather than the tool, the Semrush alternative comparison covers what you give up by leaving.

Semrush pricing questions

How much does Semrush cost per month?

On the classic SEO plans Semrush costs $139.95 a month for Pro, $249.95 for Guru and $499.95 for Business, each billed monthly for a single user. The newer Semrush One bundles run $199 for Starter, $299 for Pro+ and $549 for Advanced. Paying annually takes roughly 17 percent off every tier.

What is the cheapest Semrush plan?

Pro at $139.95 a month is the cheapest way into the classic SEO toolkit, or $117.33 a month if you commit to a year. There is no entry tier below it and no permanently free paid plan, so Semrush starts about four times higher than the cheapest paid tier at Ahrefs, which opens at $29.

Does Semrush have a free trial?

Yes. Semrush offers a 7 day free trial on Pro and Guru, and it requires a card up front. The trial gives full access rather than a stripped down version, so it is genuinely useful for evaluation, but it converts to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel inside the window.

Is Semrush worth it?

It is worth it if you actually use several of the toolkits it bundles, meaning SEO plus PPC research, content and rank tracking across multiple sites. If you only need keyword research and a content plan, you are paying for around fifty tools to use three, and the per seat pricing makes that waste multiply across a team.

Why is Semrush so expensive?

Two reasons. The platform bundles roughly fifty tools into one subscription, so you pay for the whole suite whether or not you open it, and every plan ships with exactly one login. Teams hit the second one hardest: three people on Guru is $409.95 a month, not the $249.95 on the pricing page.

What is the difference between Semrush and Semrush One?

The classic plans, Pro, Guru and Business, are the SEO first toolkit Semrush has sold for years. Semrush One is a newer, broader track sold as Starter, Pro+ and Advanced that layers AI visibility tracking and wider marketing tools on top. Both are currently sold side by side, which is why price quotes online disagree.

How much does the Semrush API cost?

API access is not sold as a standalone add on at a published per call rate. On the classic lineup it is a Business tier feature, and on the Semrush One track it is included with Advanced at $549 a month. If the API is why you are buying, budget from the top tier down rather than expecting to add it to Pro.

How many users are included in a Semrush plan?

One. Every tier includes a single seat, and extra users are billed on top at roughly $45 a month on Pro, $80 on Guru and $100 on Business. Semrush One lists additional users starting at $45 a month. Sharing one login is against the terms, so a real team cost is the sticker price plus the seats.
