Mangools vs Semrush comes down to how much of the job you need the tool to do. Mangools is the better buy for a freelancer or one-site business that wants friendly keyword lookups, SERP checks and light rank tracking, at about €38 a month billed yearly. Semrush is the better buy when SEO is a daily job across several sites and you also want audits, competitor traffic and daily tracking of 500 keywords, starting at $139 a month.
Every figure below was read off mangools.com/plans-and-pricing and semrush.com/pricing in October 2026, not copied from another comparison. That matters here more than usual. Most of the Mangools vs Semrush pages on page one quote Mangools at $29 and Semrush at $139.95, and neither number is on either vendor's pricing page any more.
Mangools vs Semrush pricing, plan by plan
Mangools sells three plans and bundles its AI Search Watcher, API and MCP access into all of them. Semrush now leads its pricing page with the Semrush One lineup, four plans that combine SEO and AI search tracking, and sells extra users and reporting as add-ons.

Mangools showed us euros, because its pricing page detects location, and we could not get its own page to show a US dollar figure. Treat the euro amounts as the real list price and expect your card to be charged a converted amount. The $29.90, $44.90 and $89.90 figures most roundups quote do not match anything Mangools currently publishes, and its old $19.90 Entry plan no longer exists. Our Mangools alternative page has the full limit table.
Is Mangools cheaper than Semrush?
Yes, by a wide margin at every tier. Mangools Basic at €37.70 a month billed yearly is roughly a third of Semrush SEO at $117.33 billed yearly. Even Mangools Agency, its top plan, costs about the same as the cheapest Semrush plan when both are paid monthly (€141 against $139), and Agency includes five extra seats where Semrush charges from $45 a month for each extra user.
The yearly discount also differs. Mangools advertises about 35 percent off for annual billing, and the plan prices work out to 38 percent. Semrush says up to 17 percent. A Mangools year buys you more than four months free; a Semrush year buys you two.
What Semrush gives you that Mangools does not
Semrush is a much larger product. The things a Mangools user cannot get at any price are a full site audit with crawl history, estimated traffic for any competitor domain, a keyword gap view across several rivals at once, and add-on toolkits for local listings, content and advertising research. Tracking is daily on every Semrush plan, where Mangools tracks weekly on Basic and Premium and only goes daily on Agency.
The catch is on the cheapest plan. Semrush describes the $139 SEO plan as including "basic keyword research and competitor analysis", and moves the full keyword research and optimization tools to Starter at $199. If keyword research is the reason you are buying, the real Semrush entry price is $199, not $139. Our Semrush pricing breakdown goes through every plan line by line.
What Mangools gives you that Semrush does not
Two things. The first is ease of use. KWFinder answers one question well (how hard is this keyword and who ranks for it) and most people are productive in it within an hour. Semrush takes weeks to learn properly, and plenty of small businesses pay for it and use a tenth of it.
The second is AI search tracking. Every Mangools plan, including Basic, bundles AI Search Watcher with 500 monitored prompts across ChatGPT, Google's AI results, Claude and five other models. Semrush lists no prompt allowance on its SEO plan, 50 tracked prompts on Starter and 200 on Advanced, and does not list Claude among the models it tracks. If showing up in AI answers matters to you, Mangools Basic covers more prompts than Semrush Advanced at roughly twelve times the price.
Keyword data, limits and accuracy
Mangools meters by the day: 100 keyword lookups and 100 SERP checks every 24 hours on Basic. Semrush meters by reports per day and by tracked keywords. In practice a freelancer researching a few topics a week rarely hits the Mangools daily cap, while an agency doing bulk research for several clients hits it on Basic within the first morning.
On accuracy, both tools model their search volumes, and neither is a measurement. Semrush has the larger keyword database, which shows up mostly in long tail coverage outside the US. For US English keywords the two usually agree on which terms matter and disagree on exact numbers, which is normal for every third party tool.
Which should you buy?
Buy Mangools if you run one to three sites, do the research yourself, publish a few articles a month and want to see where you stand in AI answers. Basic billed yearly is under €40 a month, and the 48 hour money back guarantee lets you test it with real work.
Buy Semrush if SEO is your job across several sites or clients, you need audits and competitor traffic in the same login, or you want daily tracking of hundreds of keywords. Start on the 7 day trial, which needs a card, and budget for Starter at $199 rather than SEO at $139 if keyword research is the main use.
For a local business the bigger lever is often outside both tools. Reviews feed local rankings directly, so it can pay to collect and display customer reviews on your site before you spend more on keyword data. The SEO tools for small business comparison prices the rest of the entry tier.
The step neither tool finishes
Both tools hand you a list. Mangools has no automatic clustering at all, so you group keywords by hand. Semrush can group keywords into topics, but the output is still research rather than a schedule. The work that decides whether any of it turns into traffic is deciding which keywords share a page, which page is winnable now, and what gets written first.
That is what KeywordPilot does. Paste a seed or upload the CSV you exported from KWFinder or Semrush, and you get intent clusters with difficulty and volume bands and an ordered content plan with a brief per article. The keyword clustering tool page shows how the grouping works. Starter is $49 a month, $24 billed yearly, so Mangools Basic plus KeywordPilot Starter still costs less than Semrush Starter alone.
Mangools vs Semrush questions people ask
Is Mangools good for beginners?
Yes. Mangools is one of the easiest SEO tools to learn, because each of its five apps does one job with a simple interface. KWFinder shows difficulty and the ranking pages in one screen. Beginners usually outgrow it on volume limits or missing site audits, not on usability.
Does Mangools have a free trial?
Not in the usual sense. Mangools offers a free account with 5 keyword lookups per 24 hours, and a 48 hour money back guarantee on paid plans, which it says does not apply to two consecutive subscriptions. Semrush runs a 7 day free trial that requires a card and has a permanent free plan limited to 10 reports a day.
Can Mangools replace Semrush?
For keyword research and simple rank tracking on a few sites, yes. For site audits, competitor traffic estimates, content tools and paid search research, no. Mangools is a keyword and SERP tool with backlinks and a site profiler. Semrush is a marketing suite. If you want a closer like for like comparison, our Ahrefs vs KWFinder breakdown covers the next step up.
Is Semrush worth it for a small business?
Only if someone will use it every week. At $139 to $199 a month it is the most expensive line in most small business marketing budgets after ads. A one-site business that publishes monthly usually gets more value from a cheaper keyword tool plus Google Search Console, which reports your real positions for free.
