Keyword Cupid vs Keyword Insights on pricing comes down to volume and headcount. Keyword Cupid is cheaper for a small team clustering up to 5,000 keywords a month: Freelancer costs $49.99 and seats five users. Keyword Insights is cheaper per keyword from 10,000 a month upward: Basic costs $58 for 10,000 credits and Professional $99 for 20,000, where Keyword Cupid charges $149.99. Keyword Insights credits also pay for content briefs and AI writing, and Keyword Cupid credits only cluster.

Every figure below was read off keywordcupid.com/pricing and keywordinsights.ai/pricing. Both tools do the same core job, grouping a keyword list by which pages Google ranks together, so this is one of the few comparisons in SEO software where price per unit actually means something.

Keyword Cupid vs Keyword Insights pricing, plan by plan

Keyword Cupid sells four monthly plans and shows no annual rate. Keyword Insights sells three self serve plans plus a custom Enterprise tier, and takes 20 percent off for annual billing. Both price in US dollars.

PlanPer monthCredits a monthSeatsMain limits
Keyword Cupid Starter$9.9950012,000 keywords per report, no briefs, no uploads of your own data
Keyword Cupid Freelancer$49.995,000520,000 keywords per report, briefs, SERP Spy, geotargeting
Keyword Cupid Agency$149.9920,0001040,000 keywords per report
Keyword Cupid Enterprise$499.9980,0002080,000 keywords per report
Keyword Insights Basic$5810,00015 workspaces
Keyword Insights Professional$9920,000310 workspaces, team sharing
Keyword Insights Premium$29950,000Not on the plan cardListed in the plan comparison table

On annual billing the Keyword Insights discount works out to about $46 a month for Basic and $79 for Professional. Keyword Cupid extra credits cost $0.020 per keyword on Starter, $0.010 on Freelancer, $0.007 on Agency and $0.006 on Enterprise. Our Keyword Cupid alternative page has the full Keyword Cupid limit table, including everything the Starter plan switches off.

What one clustered keyword costs on each plan

Both tools charge one credit per keyword clustered, so dividing the plan price by its credits gives a fair unit price. It assumes you spend the whole allowance on clustering.

PlanPriceCreditsPer keyword
Keyword Cupid Starter$9.99500$0.0200
Keyword Cupid Freelancer$49.995,000$0.0100
Keyword Cupid Agency$149.9920,000$0.0075
Keyword Cupid Enterprise$499.9980,000$0.0062
Keyword Insights Basic$5810,000$0.0058
Keyword Insights Professional$9920,000$0.0050
Keyword Insights Premium$29950,000$0.0060

Two things stand out. The cheapest Keyword Insights plan undercuts the most expensive Keyword Cupid plan per keyword, $0.0058 against $0.0062. And Keyword Insights Premium costs more per credit than Professional, so the step up to $299 buys capacity rather than a volume discount.

Is Keyword Cupid cheaper than Keyword Insights?

Only at low volume. Up to 5,000 keywords a month, Keyword Cupid Freelancer at $49.99 beats Keyword Insights Basic at $58 by eight dollars and includes five seats instead of one. At 10,000 keywords Keyword Cupid needs Freelancer plus 5,000 extra credits, $99.99 in total, against $58. At 20,000 it is $149.99 against $99.

The $9.99 Starter plan looks like the cheapest entry in the category, and it is, but it is closer to a paid sample. It cannot take an upload of your own keyword data and has no content briefs, so most people comparing these two tools are really comparing Freelancer with Basic.

The credits do not buy the same things

A Keyword Cupid credit clusters one keyword. That is all it does, which makes budgeting simple. Monthly credits reset at the end of the billing cycle, and extra credits bought on demand do not expire.

A Keyword Insights credit is a shared currency. Clustering costs 1 credit per keyword, a content brief 100 credits, a Writing Assistant article 200 and an AI Writing Agent article 1,200. So a Basic month of 10,000 credits could be 10,000 keywords clustered, or 6,000 keywords plus 16 briefs and 2 AI articles. If you plan to use the writing features, the per keyword price in the table above is the best case, not the typical one.

Seats decide it for agencies

Keyword Cupid is unusually generous with users: five on Freelancer, ten on Agency, twenty on Enterprise. Keyword Insights gives one seat on Basic and three on Professional. A six person content team that clusters 20,000 keywords a month fits inside Keyword Cupid Agency at $149.99. On Keyword Insights the same team is past the three seats of Professional, and the pricing page does not say how many seats the $299 Premium plan adds.

Flip the shape of the team and the answer flips too. A solo consultant who clusters 20,000 keywords a month pays $99 on Keyword Insights and $149.99 on Keyword Cupid for nine seats nobody will sit in. If you run client work, keyword research for agencies covers how to split projects and seats without paying for either extreme.

How each tool clusters

Both read live search results. Keyword Insights checks the top 10 results for every keyword and groups keywords that share 30 percent or more of their URLs, a threshold you can adjust, with a choice of two clustering algorithms and up to 200,000 keywords in one job. It can also pull in your current rank and ranking URL per cluster.

Keyword Cupid describes its method as neural network models trained per report on scraped results, again grouping keywords by shared ranking URLs. Output is an interactive mindmap plus an Excel file that lays out pages and silos. Report size is capped by plan, from 2,000 keywords on Starter to 80,000 on Enterprise. In practice the results are similar in kind, and the difference is control: Keyword Insights exposes the overlap setting, Keyword Cupid does not publish one.

Trials and getting started

Keyword Insights publishes its trial terms: $1 for 7 days, with 5,000 one time credits that cover two keyword discovery searches, clustering of up to 500 keywords, one brief and one article of each writing type. When it ends the account drops to pay as you go and nothing more is charged unless you subscribe.

Keyword Cupid advertises a 7 day trial on its homepage. Its pricing page does not say what the trial costs or how many credits come with it, so read the signup screen before adding a card. Keyword Insights also sells a managed service for teams that would rather not run the tool themselves. If that is closer to what you need, compare it with hiring an SEO agency for SaaS and ecommerce that does the research and the writing under one retainer.

Which should you buy?

  • Buy Keyword Cupid Freelancer if you cluster 5,000 keywords a month or fewer and more than one person needs a login. $49.99 for five users is the best seat price here.
  • Buy Keyword Insights Basic if you work alone and cluster between 5,000 and 10,000 keywords a month, or want briefs from the same credit pool.
  • Buy Keyword Insights Professional if two or three people cluster up to 20,000 keywords a month. It is $51 cheaper than Keyword Cupid Agency.
  • Buy Keyword Cupid Agency if the team is larger than three and volume is around 20,000 keywords.

If SERP based clustering is one feature you want among several, it also ships inside cheaper general tools. The LowFruits alternative page prices it at about one cent a keyword, and the Serpstat vs Semrush comparison covers a suite that bundles clustering with rank tracking and audits.

The step both tools leave to you

Keyword Cupid and Keyword Insights both end at a set of clusters. Somebody still has to decide which cluster is written first, give each one a title and a brief, and keep that list moving. For teams that cluster a few hundred keywords around a topic rather than a 20,000 keyword catalog, that step takes longer than the clustering did.

KeywordPilot is built around that step. It takes a seed keyword or a pasted list, groups keywords by search intent so each cluster maps to one page, adds an estimated volume and difficulty band, and returns an ordered content plan with a one line brief per article. It does not scrape SERPs to form clusters, so it is not a replacement for either tool on a very large list. The keyword clustering tool page shows how a cluster is formed. Starter is $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, with no per keyword credits, and pricing lists what each plan includes.

Keyword Cupid vs Keyword Insights questions people ask

Is Keyword Insights worth it?

For anyone clustering 10,000 or more keywords a month, yes. Basic at $58 clusters 10,000 keywords at $0.0058 each, cheaper than every Keyword Cupid plan, and the same credits cover briefs and AI drafts. It is harder to justify for a team of four or more, because Basic has one seat and Professional three.

Which is better for agencies, Keyword Cupid or Keyword Insights?

Keyword Cupid suits agencies with many users and moderate volume, since Agency includes ten accounts for $149.99. Keyword Insights suits small agencies with high volume, at $99 for 20,000 credits and three seats. Count the people who need a login first, then the keywords, and the choice usually makes itself.

Do Keyword Cupid credits roll over?

Credits included in a Keyword Cupid subscription do not roll over. They reset at the end of each billing cycle. Extra credits bought on demand are different: they do not expire and carry into future months, but you need an active subscription to buy them.

Can you cluster keywords without paying per keyword?

Yes, with tools that price by plan instead of by credit. KeywordPilot includes 40 content plans a month on Starter and 200 on Growth, with bulk runs of 200 and 500 keywords, at a flat $49 and $99. The trade is method: it clusters by search intent rather than by scraping live results for every keyword.
